Spelling (worksheet 1, worksheet 2, video)

How do you learn how to spell a word?
Learning how to spell new English words is difficult at times.
Many students spell the words 'out loud'. This is of limited value, because it doesn't provide a 'picture' in your mind of what the word looks like.

It is much better to write the word. However, simply writing the word over and over again doesn't help most people to memorise the word long term.

The L-C-R-W-C method can help you a lot with your spelling. It helps you to focus on all aspects of the word- the phonics elements, syllables and the overall 'picture' of the word.

Look at the L-C-R-W-C video (click to view video) to understand how it works. We also have a page explaining the steps and a page (worksheet 1, worksheet 2) that you can download to practise your own L-C-R-W-C.
Good luck!!!
